Unsurprising news of the day is that Motorola’s RAZR is the most popular camera phone in the UK, according to a survey by mobile research firm M:Metrics. That’s popular in terms of sales, of course. The cameraphone that most people actually use to send their snaps by MMS is actually Nokia’s 6111.
My explanation is that most RAZR owners are so chuffed with their swanky handset, they don’t want to miss any opportunity to show it off, so prefer to show their photos on the phone rather than send them. I have no scientific proof to back this up, obviously.
What’s more, the higher the resolution of your camphone, the more likely you are to send photos. M:Metrics says that 51.8% of Brits with one-megapixel or better camphones used MMS in the last three months, compared to 28% of those with handsets with VGA-resolution cameras in.
