Learn how to do anything on your mobile phone with SuperMemo Handy

SuperMemo HandyAs sales pitches go it’s the most ambitious we’ve heard for sometime, but Breakpoint seems confident that their latest mobile offering can deliver exactly what it says on the tin.

Based around the ‘world renowned’ SuperMemo learning system (we hadn’t heard of it, or maybe we had and then forgot?) the mobile application can help you learn just about anything from languages to literature.

The system (described as ‘computer aided learning’) works by stimulating your memory (hopefully not in a Total Recall kind of way) via a series of lessons, which consist of repetitions, new material and drills. There’s a full statistic service showing your progress and for particularly competitive folk the ability to add your own lessons (in addition to the hundreds included) offers a great opportunity to wrong-foot your friends and family, ensuring you remain top of the class. Um, just us then.

The first outings available now will be language based, in the form of phrase books for Polish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Russian. Handily, if your mind is a little slow on the uptake, the apps can also double as a translator. Further lessons are planned in a variety of areas and the details can be found on Breakpoint’s site.
