Aardman Animations launches mobile TV channel on Orange

Enough about watching rolling news or live sports on your phone. I want plasticine characters who make me laugh! And voila: Aardman Animations, the people behind Creature Comforts, Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, have launched their own mobile TV channel on Orange.

According to Animation Magazine, the channel will be a video loop of Aardman content, as well as animation from other producers around the world. The story says that Aardman is planning to launch the channel on other operators in the coming months, and that the company is already selling 10,000 video clips a day to mobile users.

Obviously, Wallace & Gromit on mobile is good, but hopefully Aardman will be debuting some new characters / ideas on the mobile channel too. After all, it could be an ideal place to test out new concepts to see if they’re popular.
