Map24 launches mobile mapping application

Maps on your mobile is the new rock’n'roll! Well, it’s a fairly interesting new trend anyway, which is almost the same thing. Following news last week on Nokia’s plans for mobile mapping, internet map firm Map24 has launched its own mobile application for PDAs and “many multimedia smartphones”.

It’s logically called Map24 Mobile, and acts as a route planner, navigation and search aid, complete with three-dimensional representation of maps throughout Europe – with the Americas, Middle East and Australia to follow shortly. Users who’ve registered for the web-based MyMap24 service will be able to download their personal address book into the mobile application.

Best of all, Map24 Mobile is free, apart from the data charges for downloading info to the application.
