Well, it’s still a rumour, but it’s a good one. WEGA is Sony’s range of top-notch televisions, and there are reports that Sony Ericsson is planning to launch a range of WEGA mobile handsets next year, with a focus on mobile TV.
It would make sense, being the logical follow-up to what Sony Ericsson does already with its Walkman music phones. The main quibble is that Walkmans have always been pocket devices. WEGA tellies are big, widescreen and cutting-edge technology-wise. Will mobile TV handsets live up to this?
That said, I’m more excited about the prospect of a Sony Ericsson PlayStation handset, as long as it comes with Pro Evolution Soccer preloaded that is.
