Sorry to go off on a personal tangent. But hey, it’s a blog, I’m allowed. Is there some kind of a problem with Nokia’s new Nseries chargers? Well, the one that comes with the N70 at any rate, which has a smaller nozzle than all previous Nokia chargers.
Mine broke about four months ago, so I got a replacement, and now that’s broken too. In exactly the same way – it won’t charge the phone, and the little nozzle feels a bit loose, like it may have snapped inside. Surely that can’t be the case twice… Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Hi,
First time using this message board but wanted to say thanks to posters vanadragos and sangster.
I went to charge my phone this morning and none of the 3 chargers I happen to have worked even with fiddling around with them. I am up to my eyes at the moment with college so the thought of having to go into a phone shop and experience the above scenarios didn’t appeal.
I tried the guys solution of bending the small pin and it would then work if I held it in place; so i then tried wrapping the wire close down the side of the handset while it was plugged in with an elastic band warapped around this and the phone to hold it in place and its now working.
I know this isn’t ideal but it might get you out of a tight spot and it doesn’t mean you have to hold the phone while it charges.
Many thanks guys.
I have 2 nokias N series. Both have the same problem with the cahrgers, and the only way it´s been working is to hold them still in a place and beg that no one moves them while their are charging. I´ve talked with the company that sells them and they have had lots of complaints about this.
Conclusion: Faulty design
poke a toothpick into the phones charger hole and bend it around until it works.
I bought a cheap Nokia 1208 as I had mislaid the charger for my 6600 fold. The 1208 charged the first time I used it but now it won’t charge anything in any position. Thought my 6600 must be terminal but it will charge using an emergency charger. So I must have a faulty charger! Back to the shop it goes!
These bloody Nokia chargers are the worst I have ever seen. I have three of them (from N70 and N95) and they are all rubbish – plug it in, nothing happens, plug out, plug in, starts charging, stops charging, loose connection? but where is it – the cable doesn’t look damaged??? I’m sick of it… looks like Nokia is buying the absolute cheapest flimsiest rubbish that can be bought from China and they don’t care if they fail within a few months because then people have to buy replacements which are ££££££ for Nokia – it’s a scam of the highest order!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My charger was unreliable from the day I got the phone – always had to wiggle the thing about before the phone would charge, and the wiggling required increased until it just didn’t work anymore.
The fix is a doddle though: I was going to buy a replacement (still not really knowing whether it was the phone or not) but there was a cheaper generic branded one that was actually a multiphone charger (this was in Argos for a tenner, I’m in the UK). It worked perfectly from the outset, I’d recommend getting one of those. I’ve even sat on it and bent the pin at the end by accident, it still works without complaint!
heyy,
Im only 14, but have been a faithful customer of Nokia all my life. All in all, I’ve owned a total of eight nokia phones, and have been really impressed with the first three, but as yu can guess, these were the old, robust, reliable charging ones. Since moving on and updating to the newer Nseries, I can honestly say I would rather have no phone than another Nokia! I must have gone through over 20 chargers in the last five phones, and considering I have to spend £15 on each charger is totally ridiculous.
But after months of wiggling the ridiculous little pin around inside the phone, I have found some sort of solution, although it requires a steady hand.
Firstly, i snipped the end of the charger off, where the wire meets the start of the adapting pin, and located the two wires inside.
Then, I carefully cut the platic around the pic to find the two connscting wires.
After that, I connected the wires up and used pleanty of wire glue to secure the hold.
Finally, I wrapped the nozzle pin with pleanty of wire tape, and have been using the same charger without fault for five months!
I can still say that its my last Nokia phone!
