Two contrasting stories here from Ringtonia about the red-hot crossover between religion and ringtones. In the US, a company called Faith Mobile is planning a teen portal which will include ringtones of local pastors reading out Bible verses.
It wouldn’t work over here, mind. Most vicars are so softly-spoken, you wouldn’t hear the ringtone if your phone was in your pocket. At least, not unless your vicar is Ian Paisley, in which case it’s a marvellous idea.
Meanwhile, an imam at a Saudi Arabian mosque has reportedly issued a fatwa against mobile phones, after one rang during prayers. If it happens again, the owner will get thrown out of the mosque. Crazy Frog will presumably now have to join Salman Rushdie and the entire population of Denmark in hiding.
