Alcatel OT-E801 music mobile

alcatel-ote801.jpgMusic on your mobile doesn’t have to involve a pricey handset. Alcatel has just unveiled the OT-E801 mobile, a rubberised handset that’s available in black or white, and is aimed at music fans on pay-as-you-go tariffs.

The phone includes MP3-playing software, and comes with a 128MB memory card, capable of holding up to 50 tunes transferred from your PC or Mac. However, if you buy a bigger card, you can have up to 2GB of space for songs. But best of all – if you’re on a budget – is the price. It’ll cost you just £39.99 from Argos, Woolworths, T-Mobile and Orange shops.

Updated 8th June ‘07: Following the dozens of posts we’ve had about this phone, we asked Alcatel for some advice for those of you who are still having problems. To read what Alcatel had to say click here.

I just found another possible cause for problems with the mini-SD-card. At first I couldn’t find why my OT-E801 did not recognize my 1 GB card, or did not want to play the mp3’s that I succesfully copied from my PC to the card (with a card reader, not with the phone + USB).

Only then I found out that I inserted the mini-SD-card in the phone in the wrong way – upside down! I did not experience any difficulty doing that – the card just snugly snapped into place. So remember to place the card with the copper contacts UPWARDS (i.e. facing the keyboard) into the phone. The manual is not clear about that, neither the text nor the illustration.

go my computer and click SD/MMC(E:) then there make a new folder and put all your supportet mp3 in the folder. And when trying to play mp3 on your phons in such a way you will not get NO VALID FILES.
