Bad news if you have a prepay Vodafone mobile: the operator might’ve been charging you an extra 12p for texting premium-rate numbers. The Register has the story, which would affect users doing things like text-chat, but also ordering games, ringtones and wallpapers from off-portal suppliers.
“Vodafone can confirm a charging issue affecting a number of our pay as you talk customers using premium rate SMS services,” says a statement from the operator. “The issue continues to be investigated.” In the meantime, maybe this is a good point to check those bills if you’re possibly affected…

not just pay as you go being ripped off.contract users too.my son is working abroad,made all the right contract adjustments before he went,had one normal bill,then one for £330 and just had another for £185.been on the phone countless times to vodafone.either nobody can help,or you think some one has sorted it out,or you wait for a promise of a call back.lost patience now.billing department just advised going into local vodafone shop.so in the morning going to cause a stink hopefully in front of prospective customers.vodafone have my money and i want it back.
