In 2007, you’re going to be hearing a lot more about Voice over IP on mobile phones, and particularly Skype. Making cheap or even free internet calls from your mobile is going to be big news. An early indication is the beta release of Skype 2.2 for Windows Mobile devices, which Skype says means 120 devices nowadays.
It works in the same way as Skype on PC or Mac, giving you access to your buddy list of contacts. The application can now tell you when you’ve missed calls, have a new chat message, or a voicemail. And best of all, it’s free to download!
