You could soon be playing the latest music on your mobile, your MP3 player, your PC and so on without restrictions, and best of all, it’s legal to. No, you’re not misreading… because within months, many of the biggest names in music are planning on selling the latest music in MP3 format via D2C – aka direct to customer
This news will probably come as a welcomed sign that record companies are realising that DRM, instead of prevent piracy is largely causing it. Quite this means for Apple and its iTunes store though remains to be seen.
