A survey conducted by consumer research company, Telephia, has found that social networking, blogging and sharing content via mobile are on the rise. Apparently 4% of UK phone owners have uploaded content created on their mobile handsets to social networking, video and photo sites. That doesn’t sound like many, but then only 14% have used their phones for listening to music, while a meagre 11% send emails.
So where is most of this user-gen content going? Did you really have to ask? Myspace of course. 21% of active uploaders have sent content to the networking giant. Windows Live Spaces comes in next while YouTube and Bebo trail behind in joint third. In the US, 6% of mobile users are uploading, and again, MySpace is the most popular recipient of their blurry images and incoherent video clips.
