Panasonic’s 706P handset for Softbank is something of a looker, with a translucent design and a 16.2mm-thin body. It uses a spring-coiled hinge to accommodate the ‘one-push open’ feature that Japanese clamshell handsets are now using, although in our experience this isn’t a great design point if you happen to be left-handed.
Still, we really shouldn’t grumble, because the 706P also has a fine two-megapixel camera complete with 9.7x zoom — hell, we could use this phone in a very Bondian way. Japan gets the 706P at the end of February.
