SlingBox to stream iTunes to your phone via Apple TV?

appletv.jpgWow, this would be very cool if true, but it’s still just a theory. Apparently, Sling Media, which makes the SlingBox place-shifting device, wants to make it compatible with Apple TV.

According to a CNET report, the company is already testing the software to make this work, which would allow mobile users to stream music and video content from their PC or Mac, to their Apple TV and then out via the SlingBox to their smartphone, wherever they are.

It would be pretty expensive to set up (in the US, $300 for the Apple TV and $150 for the SlingBox), but for those of us with thousands of songs stored on our home computers, it could be rather marvellous.
