Nokia & Motorola WiMAX phones by 2008

WiMAX logoThe news is a bit Nokia-heavy at the moment, but that’s because the Finnish giant seems to be making a lot of cool and interesting moves this week. However, for this story we can pull Motorola into the picture too.

Reuters reports that Nokia and Motorola are to start selling WiMAX-enabled phones by 2008, which means that (once the networks are in place) you’ll have access to fast, long-range wi-fi internet.

“Nokia plans to bring its first WiMAX enabled mobile device to market in early 2008,” Nokia said in a statement. Of course, if you live in Korea, you can already use WiMAX with funky devices like Samsung’s P9000.
