Vodafone and Moovera partnership yields popular commuter WiFi service

v_c4_redhairlaptoptrain.jpgMoovera Networks, and Vodafone UK, have announced the commercial launch of mobile internet access on Europe’s busiest coach service, the Oxford Tube. The Stagecoach Group service between Central London and Oxford will now offer passengers email and web access on the move.

The connection speed is no slouch, capable of speeds up to 1.4Mbps using a combination of Moovera’s mobile wi-fi gear and Vodafone UK’s 3G broadband network. During its pre-launch three month trial, the service enticed commuters from rival coach services to jump ship. Given its popularity and Vodafone’s 3G broadband network nearing blanket UK coverage (with 80% of the population already catered for), the service may prompt availability on a much larger selection of routes.

Is there anywhere that the internet cannot touch?
