Ask.com gets into GPS with Ask Mobile

Ask GPSAsk.com, winner of the 2007 Webby Award for Best Mobile Site (head to m.ask.com on your phone, although we think it might be a bit US-centric), has just launched a new Ask Mobile application in the States.

The GPS-based app is initially available for Sprint handsets with GPS functionality, but if it takes off there’s not reason why it shouldn’t be headed Europe-wards too. Features include a ’share my location’ tool which can send other people a link to a map and directions to wherever you are, an ‘Evites’ system to help you track all the parties you’re invited to (being the good-looking, popular person that you are), and the usual location-based ‘where’s my nearest bar/ restaurant/ police station’ type stuff.

For US readers, head here to check out compatible handsets and download, or click here to read more about Ask Mobile on the company’s blog.
