I bluddy love cider, I do. And it seems the rest of the UK is coming round to my way of thinking. Brewery Scottish & Newcastle is hoping to capitalise on the cider-hype by launching a mobile marketing campaign for its Strongbow brand, which kicks off next week.
It’s called ‘Strongbow First Pint Friday’, and will involve 66 pubs across the UK offering a free pint to the first 100 people every Friday. The mobile angle is a Strongbow WAP site with ringtones, jokes and wallpapers, and a location-based service letting you text a shortcode to receive details of your nearest venue offering the free pint.
I’ll publish the WAP address when it goes live next week (although not before I’ve nabbed one of the freebie pints, obviously…)
