Nokia finally supporting Macs with new Nokia Media Transfer!

Nokia Media TransferWow! Just when we thought Nokia was never going to get around to supporting the Mac, our Finnish friends have proved us wrong by announcing the public beta of Nokia Media Transfer. This new application ties-into some of the Mac’s major features, including iPhoto and iTunes, and operates over both Bluetooth and USB (dependent on your phone model, we guess). Supported handsets include pretty much all the Nseries but nothing else at the moment — and you need Mac OS X 10.4.9 to run the app.

Some of Media Transfer’s features seem pretty cool: Mac owners are now able to transfer photos and music from their iPhoto and iTunes libraries onto their phones, and import into iPhoto back from their handset. There’s also a feature to auto-load your iTunes library onto your phone. Moreover, there is (finally!) a device browser for the Mac, something that’s been a long time coming, allowing you to delve through folders on your phone via the Mac application. (Can you guess that we have a couple of Mac users on Pocket Picks?)
