Alcatel helps to save planet earth

image003.jpgAlcatel’s rep in the UK is peppering the market with cheaper-than-chips prepay entry-level handsets. Recently it’s introduced some funky nuggets into the market that have boosted its cool cachet. However its latest announcement isn’t about adding to its prepay army but its initiatives to help the environment and improve its carbon footprint.

The French-Chinese manufacturer is to make its phone packaging up to three times smaller, starting with its brand new handsets to launch over the coming months. The advantages are two fold: firstly it reduces carbon emissions and secondly its helps the retailers with its storage problems. Alcatel has thought of everything.
