A British company, Expansys, is offering unlocked iPhones that it claims will work with a SIM card from any UK or European GSM network. The product listing doesn’t mention any delivery details or price which means that Expansys may just be indulging in a bit of hopeful anticipation so that it can lay claim to the accolade of first provider of unlocked iPhones in the UK if and when the software is cracked. Either that or it is simply a copy and paste mistake.
The (supposedly) unlocked beauties are available for pre-order and although the process does appear to be free, you do need to supply your payment details in order to secure a unit. The site does state that you will be contacted when a unit becomes available and asked if you want to complete your order before authorizing any transactions.
If any ultra curious types do chance a pre-order then do be sure to let us know how you get on, but might we suggest not getting your hopes up too much for this one.
