Rumours of an Apple iPhone nano gather pace

ipodnano01_20060912.jpgJust as the dust has settled on the hullabaloo surrounding the Apple iPhone launch, rumours are circulating that a low cost iPhone model is hot on the heels of the first generation device. Apple Insider is claiming that Apple is pushing-through a more budget conscious handset, marrying iPod skills with basic phone functionality. Email and internet browsing capabilities are also rumoured to have been ditched.

It’s been given the ‘nano’ tag because it best describes the phone’s more compact form, while recently filed patents suggest it will also sport a virtual rotary click wheel. The iPhone nano is expected to retail for a lot less than the $500-plus (£250) iPhone when it potentially launches later this year. Sounds like we had better brace ourselves for yet more iPhone fever.
