New BlackBerry 8310 Curve with built-in GPS

8300_Edge_frontNoShadow1.jpgThe new BlackBerry 8310 Curve has rather quietly popped up on Vodafone Germany without any kind of official announcement from creators RIM. Perhaps Vodafone are getting ahead of themselves but American website Ubergizmo spotted the new 8310 available on the network’s Home Combo 240 business plan business plan with a 100 Euro (approx. £68) price tag.

As you can see from the picture the 8310 looks exactly like the original Curve with the only difference being it has a built-in GPS receiver (for some CrackBerries that’s quite a big difference). This upgrade also comes quite soon after the launch of the 8300 which may pee off owners of the first Curve just a tad.

According to Ubergizmo when in sat nav mode the maps are streamed to the 8310 via a central server over its EDGE connection. But apart from the new GPS feature, the 8310 specs are exactly the same as the 8300 and this includes a two-megapixel snapper, quad-band capabilities, built-in music player and microSD card but it’s shame the 8310 couldn’t stretch to built-in Wi-Fi like the recently announced 8820.

Unfortunately, Pocket Picks doesn’t know when or if it will be rolled out to the rest Europe and America but with RIM’s track record it’s more likely than not.
