An interesting social tool called Mobiluck has just been made available for S60 3rd Edition Nokia handsets. The application has been available for all manner of handsets for a while and now up-to-date S60 users (most of the Nseries) can join the one-million registered users who apparently span 200 countries.
The Bluetooth application relies on ‘bluejacking’ to detect nearby devices (picking up someone’s bluetooth signal without them knowing it). You can then send messages and photos for free to friends or strangers — although presumably they have to accept the message. You can also create a profile within the application for sending on to other Mobiluck users (or Mobiluckers as we like to call them).
You can download Mobiluck online and then transfer it to your handset, or visit wap.mobiluck.com via your mobile’s browser and download it there. There is a free three-day trial or you can hop on-board a year’s worth of service for a measly €9 (about £6).
