Nokia’s add-on GPS module that the FCC so kindly shared with us at the beginning of August has been officially revealed by our Finnish friends. Drunken nights out need no longer end with a sleep in the park — simply suction-cup the LD-4W to your forehead, synch it with your phone, and follow the bleeped instructions back to your own bed.
Weighing in at 31 grams, the LD-4W boasts a claimed 10 hours battery life, which is just enough to get you almost half way around the M25. The module works in conjunction with Nokia Maps, although we’re not sure how it would stand up to comparison with a dedicated GPS gizmo like a TomTom.
Still, if you’re up for giving the LD-4W a go, it’s out soon priced at €125 (£85) plus tax — so probably about £99 by the time it turns up in your local Currys.
