Truphone launches InTones free dialing music service

Mobile VoIP upstart Truphone has just launched a new free service for those using its VoIP software. Everyone has of course heard of personalized ringtones but what about personalized dial tones? Truphone’s new InTones are exactly that; personalized songs that your friends hear when they call you instead of the usual ringing.

There is a fairly eclectic selection available including rock, jazz, ska, bluegrass, hip-hop, Euro-house and disco each of which have two things in common; the ring is still pretty obvious (albeit in time with the music) and the word Truphone can be heard, loud and clear in each, at some point.

Genius marketing ploy or just plain annoying? It’s your call but we can’t help but be amazed that this has not already been done in some form. Check out the video to see what’s on offer.
