Apple to hold news conference in London next week

iphone1.jpgApple has announced that it will call a news conference in London next Tuesday. Though Apple has declined to divulge specifics about the conference, an Apple spokesman for Germany has confirmed that final announcements about which operators will carry the iPhone in Europe will be revealed before the end of September.

Whether this slightly baffling duo of reports means that the final European carriers will be revealed on Tuesday is unclear, but it seems like a fairly safe bet to us. Considering the maelstrom of iPhone speculation that has been kicked from forum to blog over the last year, it will be nice to finally put the rumours to rest.

But just for old time sake, there is still time for a final bout of wild speculation. Our money is on 8GB and 16GB versions, both sporting 3G/HSDPA (hopefully) making their way into the public realm sometime in October (fingers crossed anyway). As for the carrier, we are going to go with O2 and maybe one more for the UK. But what do you lot think?

  1. Tim Evans says:

I’m hoping for the 16Gb 3G modle that must be coming. But as it looks like O2 are doing a lot of EDGE enhancment on the current network I’m not so sure that will happen. (all bets are on O2 for the carrier)

More interested to see what tariff O2 will do for data, as its horrible at the moment
