Korea’s LG has just announced that its sparkling hot new handset, the KU990 Viewty, is (as one or two review sites have recently spotted) fully DivX Certified. This means the handset can play back DivX movies on the KU990’s 3″ screen, and stream them over HSDPA high-speed 3G.
So far, reviewers’ impressions of the Viewty have been very positive, and we’re looking forward to this sweet-looking beast hitting the UK in the near future. We’re not sure whether this DivX Certification is a first in the mobile phone world… Anyone heard of another handset that’s been ratified?
