Another day, another ‘iPhone killer’. Big yawn, right? But Samsung’s Serenata, made in partnership with audio specialist Bang & Olufsen and due to hit mobile stores in a couple of weeks, at least has an unusual design to offer.
We revealed the Serenata back in August, but now it seems its ready for release. The music-friendly mobile will go on sale in Europe by the end of this month, crucially ahead of the iPhone’s November launch, although pricing is yet to be confirmed.
The Serenata is 3G/ HSDPA compatible (unlike the iPhone) and has 4GB of memory (not expandable), plus a built-in bass and speaker system courtesy of B&O. It can apparently play music for up to five hours through its speaker, or up to 13 hours through a headset.
It’s an eye-catching design with no keypad on the front — only a navigation wheel and a 2.26-inch touch screen. The wheel can be used one handed for all major functions on the device, although there’s a button for switching between music and phone modes. It’s a bit strange, yet also strangely appealing. More pics after the jump.

Beautiful phone but why is everyone hypeing the Iphone(yawn). Granted the Iphone is a nice phone but it’s got nothing to do with this Samsung phone.
Ok so if everyone was complaining about only 4 and 8 GB on the iPhone why should we not complain about this 4 GB??? And what other phone can you compare to the iphone in size. Its not like theres a 10 or 20GB phone out there that has a music player and video player like the iphone.
that is one of the ugliest phones i have ever seen. it doesnt even look like a phone, it looks like a cheap, bulky ipod knockoff. or part of a starship.. yecch!
