iPhone will be sold network unlocked in France from Nov 29th!

iphone orangeWhen we brought you the news of the French iPhone pricing, it wasn’t clear quite how maker Apple and operator Orange would comply with the country’s legal requirement that handsets must be available unlocked. Now the International Herald Tribune has confirmed that the iPhone will be made available from its French release date, November 29th, in unlocked form.

While there’s no mention of pricing on Apple’s French iPhone site, we’re speculating that an unlocked iPhone will be unlikely to break the €600 (£420) mark. That would represent a £150 price premium over the with-contract price of €399. So… Anyone tempted to do a bit of pre-Christmas cross-channel shopping?
