MTV/Nokia’s short film competition shot exclusively on Nokia N93i handsets

01_n93i_lowres.jpgNokia recently ran a unique promotion during the 2007 Cannes Lions Advertising Festival in which camera crews had two days to shoot a 30 second commercial about the environment using the Nokia N93i. Branded the Young Creative Film Competitors the groups worked alongside MTV SWITCH which is a new campaign from MTV Networks International aimed at educating young folks about alternative ways to help save the planet.

There were 20 teams from 20 countries all competing for first place and MTV even filmed a making of documentary (also using the Nokia N93i exclusively) detailing the trials and tribulations that the various teams faced during their two day stint. The documentary which is called Short Film Shootout: Cannes will be aired on all of MTV’s 61 channels across 161 countries starting on December 20th.

It’s an interesting stunt and we are keen to see what sort of results Nokia’s little box of tricks was capable of.
