Samsung has announced that the unique Soul slider is will be hitting European shores this month. Why unique? Well mostly because of the OLED touch-sensitive display that sits underneath the screen on the front. It has icons mapped to it which change depending on the function the phone is being used for i.e. music, internet or camera.
Other features include a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, face detection, image stabilization, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, video calling and an FM radio. Not too shabby, though a healthy chunk of onboard storage similar to that found in the G810 would be nice. Even so, the Soul makes up for it by being a very sleek little number at just 12.9mm. Despite the fact that there are other more feature rich handsets in the Samsung camp, the company is calling the Soul it’s flagship handset, which is probably something to do with that OLED control set-up which is a feature unique to the company (as far as we are aware anyway).
The handset will be rolled out in France and Germany as well as here in the UK, though who is going to carry it is still unknown. Hopefully some good deals will emerge as engadget mobile is reporting the Soul is estimated to cost 400 Euros (about £320). Hit the jump for more shots.
