GoSpoken launches mobile audiobook service

gospoken.jpgDull train journeys may soon be a thing of the past, if GoSpoken have their way.  The company has launched a new service that lets you download full audiobooks directly to your phone.

There are already several options when it comes to listening to audiobooks on your mobile, from iTunes to Nokia Beta Labs Audiobook app.  What makes GoSpoken different is the immediacy of being able to browse, sample and buy books directly from your phone.

Books are downloaded in chunks costing £1 each, so if you don’t like the fist couple fo chapters you can bail out and try something new.  Several publishers are on board and GoSpoken short codes have cannily been appearing on poster adverts for new bestsellers, offering a free download of sample chapters.

Sadly, the books are only available in DRM’d formats which will lock them to the phone so think twice if you are about to change your handset.
