Cameraphone quality isn’t just about megapixels – you have to consider the lens and other features – but Samsung is nevertheless hoping to make a splash with the eight-megapixel INNOV8 phone, which is due on sale next month. If the name puts you off, don’t worry, you can refer to it as its official product name of the i8510. Anyway, besides that camera, the phone will offer a 2.8-inch screen and a choice of 8GB or 16GB of internal memory, plus a memory card slot if you need more space. The handset has built-in speakers and 3D surround sound, HSDPA and Wi-Fi for fast data access, A-GPS for navigational goodness, and will run the Symbian OS v9.3 Series 60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2. Phew. Plus there’s a built-in FM radio, the ability to record QVGA clips at 120 frames-per-second, or VGA-resolution videos at a still-impressive 30fps. It’ll come with embedded 3D games from EA and Gameloft, and will support Bluetooth streaming for those of you who like listening to music on wireless headphones. No news on price, but this is sure to be a summer biggie for Samsung when it comes out next month.
