A beta version of the promising new we browser Skyfire has been released for s60 phones.
The browser first surfaced as a Windows Mobile app. The Symbian version is available as a private beta to people signed up via the Skyfire website.
The browser claims to offer a full ‘desktop’ browsing experience, with full support for AJAX (e.g. javascript), Flash, Quicktime and Windows Media files.
With Firefox for Symbian seemingly relegated to the back burner (at least until the newly open-sourced Symbian OS sparks developers into life) Skyfire might be the only real challenger to Opera’s title of Most Half-Decent Mobile Web Browser tht Isn’t On An iPhone.
Beta signups are still open, .
