Missing Sync for Symbian/Mac finally released

We first covered this back in December, but it has been stuck in beta for some time.  Now, at long last, Macintosh users are able to properly sync their Nokia phones with OS X.

The Missing Sync for Symbian will synchronize Contacts, Calendar and To-Do items on a Symbian device with the equivalent apps on the Mac.

SMS messages  can be archived, as can photos and video clips.  iTunes integration allows your Mac to manage the music files on your phone – although it can’t handle Nokia’s brand of DRM, so best to stick to less crippled formats.

Best of all is Proximity Sync.  This will silently sync your phone the moment it gets within Bluetooth range of the Mac – removing the need to even think about backing up your data.

Now, if someone could just convince Mark/Space to release a version of The Missing Sync for LinuxI would be a very happy blogger indeed..
