Jobs admits that MobileMe was ‘a mistake’

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has sent an internal email to his staff amitting that the release of MobileMe could hsve been better planned.

The MobileMe service, a replacement for the Mac.com email system that promised to bring push email to mobile devices like the iPhone has been plagued by problems since its release alongside both the new iPhone 3g and version 2.0 of he iPhone software.

mobileme.jpg“It was a mistake to launch MobileMe at the same time as iPhone 3G, iPhone 2.0 software and the App Store,” said Jobs “We all had more than enough to do, and MobileMe could have been delayed without consequence.”

Jobs went on to say that although the release as not up to Apple’s “usual standards” that the commpany would learn from its mistakes and presss on with improving the service.
