SlingMedia’s location-shifting TV technology, the SlingBox, has been usable through Nokia S60 handsets for about a years.
Until now, those ‘other’ Symbian phones running UIQ have been telly-less. SlingMedia have announced the release of their SlingPlayer software for UIQ phones.
The app will allow users to hook up a telly to a SlingBox and then watch and control it via the phone using a data connection. This release brings compatability to the Sony Ericsson P1i, P990i, W960i, W950i, M600i, G700 and G900 and the Motorola Z8 and Z10 phones.
The new software costs £19.99, a basic SlingBox can be had from about £70 and up.
