Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 dated for the UK

All you Sony Ericsson fans can breath a sigh of relief, not only is the sexy looking Xperia X1 definitely coming this year, it’s actually coming this month!

The big day is September 30th and what’s more, it seems that it will only arrive in the UK, Germany and Sweden to begin with, with the rest of Europe and the US having to wait until the end of the year and maybe even 2009.

We won’t bore you with repeating the specs for Sony Ericsson’s first entry into it’s new top end Xperia line again, but if you do want to get a solid idea of what the handset does, straight from the horses mouth, Sony Ericsson is hosting a live webcast on September 15 at 13:00 GMT + 1, that will give the first full in-depth hands-on demonstration of the device.
The webcast will also be the launching pad for the first episode of Johnny X, an alternative reality thriller in which the amnesia stricken protagonist, uses an Xperia X1 to piece together the scraps of information about his life that he finds throughout the nine episodes.

It’s a pretty unique sounding publicity stunt and over a three week period starting on Monday, September 22, one new episode of Johnny X will be posted online at www.sonyericsson.com/Johnnyx every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. There’s already a trailer available for the series here.

Plenty for Sony Ericsson fans to get excited about then. As soon as we can get some video of the device in action, you’ll read about it here.
