Mobile lifecasting is the future. Possibly. Y’know, when you use your mobile phone to stream live video footage to potentially* millions of viewers.
Qik is one of the companies making it happen, and it’s just announced the launch of its application for BlackBerry handsets, albeit in alpha status only. It works with the BlackBerry Bold and Curve already, with plans to support other handsets in future updates.
The app is already available for a wide range of smartphone and Java handsets, so adding BlackBerry support is a logical move. The big question, however, is whether Qik will be available for the iPhone. There’s already a version running on hacked iPhones, but as yet there’s no news on whether it’ll be sold officially through the App Store.
