iPhone crushes RAZR in the US

Remember the RAZR V3? It seems like years ago (actually, it was years – four, in fact) since the little clamshell was the default consumer phone of choice. Since the iPhone, N95 et al basic 3G phones seem hopelessly archaic.

Or at least they do in the UK. In the USA, the RAZR was still number one until this summer. Since then – in what business types always endearingly call ‘Q3′ – the RAZR has been blunted. The iPhone now reigns supreme as the USA’s top consumer mobile.

That list of handsets in full:

  1. Apple iPhone 3G
  2. Motorola RAZR V3 (all models)
  3. RIM Blackberry Curve (all models)
  4. LG Rumor
  5. LG enV2

Just stop a minute and think about that – a few years ago something like the iPhone would have been ridiculously high-end and of interest only to a few geeks and hardcore ‘road warrior’ business types. What will thinigs be like this time next year when Android has had chance to shake things up?
