Nokia has announced that its buyout of shares in Symbian will be completed by the end of this year.
The buyout began in June this year, with Nokia acquiring a majority stake in the UK-based company. Nokia then announced its intention to fully purchase the company and al its intellectual property and then release Symbian as a fully open source project to compete with Google’s Android.
The deal is expected to cost 263 million Euros and is expected to be approved by regulators before the end of December.
