With the anticipated 5th May launch of the G2 (HTC Magic) by Vodafone, there’s finally some competition when it comes to buying a Google phone in the UK.
Vodafone has a bunch of different deals available. All lock you into an 18 month contract, but then vary depending on the monthly cost and number of free call minutes and texts available.
The standard contract – free phone at £35/month for 18 months, 600 anytime minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited mobile internet – costs a total of £630, while the most expensive is £80/month for 3,000 anytime minutes totalling £1,440.
Or you can choose to pay for the phone; at either £195.74 or £293.62 plus monthly charge. However these plans don’t include unlimited mobile internet, making them much more expensive in the longrun.
Alternatively, T-Mobile is offering the G1 for £36.50/month for 18 months with 800 minutes per months and unlimited text and internet.
The haggling starts now.
