Developer IntuApps wants you to feel safe as fears of a swine flu Influenza A (H1N1) pandemic rise by empowering you with up-to-the-minute information via its recently submitted Swine Flu Tracker.
Barry Schwartz, the company’s CEO, revealed the app on his personal blog yesterday as public concern continues to crescendo. Instead of feeding into fears, the app is intended to update you on the spread of the disease so you know just how much time you have left before the end.
The app synthesises data from the World Health Organisation (WHO), US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and HealthMap to show the location of known cases through Google Maps. Additionally, tweets from each organisation are filtered through the app for timely updates.
As opportunistic as such an app may sound, it may actually prove useful in keeping tabs on this serious problem. Schwartz didn’t list the app’s price, though it should release on the App Store any day now.
