Fiddling with your mobile phone’s buttons is one of the defining activities of 21st Century life, like twirling your moustache 200 years ago – but could we soon instead be gesturing over our handsets like a fortune teller consulting her crystal ball? Maybe, if this prototype handset from Pilotfish and Synaptics is any guide to the future.
Rather than fiddling to press ‘5′ instead of ‘6′ (or indeed ‘7′), you wave your hands around about the handset to access its various functions. It all sounds very Minority Report, but what do you when walking down the high street? And surely a voice driven interface is the obvious way to rid our handsets of buttons?
