LG unveils a mobile phone that records TV

tv-pvr.jpgIt’s a logical next step. After all, if you can watch TV on your phone, which has a big memory card inside, why can’t you also record it - in the same way you would with a hard-drive recorder attached to your TV?

LG’s new KB6100 mobile phone does just that, although naturally it’ll only be available in South Korea for the forseeable future. It can receive T-DMB digital TV channels (T-DMB is the technology that’s being used in Korea for mobile TV), and record them, letting you watch later on the handset, or on a PC monitor if you connect up the handset.

More of this sort of thing! Although I have to wonder whether it’d be easier to record your actual TV at home, and then transfer the recording to your mobile’s memory card later, rather than the other way around.
