Virgin’s mobile TV service has fallen flat on its face, with less than 10,000 people buying the phone despite a multi-million pound ad campaign along with a price drop from £199 to £99 for pre-pay customers. Virgin believes the limited amount of handsets (currently just one) is the main reason why people are shunning the service, although rival mobile operators such as O2 who are still trialling their service claim that it’s the limited amount of channels that is pushing people away. Virgin currently only offer five, whereas O2’s service will offer 16.
