Moxia releases USB batteries for phones

Moxia USB BatteryThe days of phone chargers may be soon over. Moxia Energy, the outfit behind the rechargeable batteries that plug into USB slots, is bringing the same technology to mobile phone batteries. The batteries have a USB plug hidden away inside their body ready to be plugged into any available power source including your PC, Xbox 360 or PS3. Anything, in fact, with a USB port.

The plug is positioned at the bottom, so that you don’t have to take the battery out. It isn’t clear yet which handsets will support the new charger, but from the press release imagery, Sony Ericsson and Motorola RAZR handsets look a given. We hope to have a little more information about supported handsets soon.
