In a recent interview, Scott Rubin, VP of Namco Networks/ Games, has confirmed that the veteran publisher (with a back-catalogue which includes Pac-Man, Ridge Racer and Tekken), is working on iPhone games for Apple.
Rubin told Gaming Bits, “We are without a question one of the handful of game publishers that Apple has chosen to work with and we’re also a top partner of Cingular, who will be selling the device. At this time, there hasn’t been too much information in terms of games… If the opportunity is there, we will put our games on the iPhone. It’s our mission.”
Along with last month’s news that EA is also working on iPhone titles, it seems Apple is, quietly, pretty serious about the handset’s gaming potential. To read the full interview on click here.
