Microsoft developing new Deepfish mobile browser

deepfish.jpgIt’s not even in beta yet, so don’t expect to be using Microsoft’s new Deepfish browser tomorrow. It’s being developed for Windows Mobile smartphones, with the aim of providing a browsing experience much closer to what you’d get on a desktop computer.

This will involve more use of zooming and panning to move around pages, while a server renders web pages into something that’ll load quickly on your phone. It’s being developed by Microsoft’s Live Labs division, so we’ll keep you posted when it becomes available to download.
